چکیده

DQRAP (Distributed Queueing Random Access Protocol) is a random multiple access protocol for a slotted broadcast channel, shared by an infinite number of stations with bursty traffic, which can achieve a performance approaching that of a hypothetical perfect scheduling protocol (i.e. M/D/1 system). The Free Access DQRAP (FADQRAP) is an easy-to-implement version of DQRAP. FADQRAP, as does DQRAP, utilizes minislots to provide ternary channel feedback and two distributed queues to resolve queueing contention and to schedule the transmission of messages. FADQRAP thus achieves almost the same performance as DQRAP. In contrast with DQRAP, FADQRAP allows a user to transmit a message and/or request in the first slot following the message arrival regardless of the state of the channel thus freeing the users from having to sense the channel continuously. The free access DQRAP is described, its performance is evaluated, and simulation results are presented. Comparisons indicate that FADQRAP achieves significant improvement in performance over the best free access tree protocol up to date.

DQRAP with Announced Arrival for a Broadcast Channel1

The DQRAP (Distributed Queueing Random Access Protocol) protocol is a random multiple access protocol for a slotted broadcast channel shared by an infinite number of bursty stations, which can achieve a performance approaching that of a hypothetical perfect scheduling protocol (i.e. an M/D/1 system). In this paper two variations of the DQRAP protocol, DQRAP with announced arrival (DQRAP/AA) and...

Performance Analysis of Distributed Queueing Random Access Protocol - - DQRAP

Distributed Queueing Random Access Protocol (DQRAP) is a multi-access protocol for a broadcast channel that provides performance superior to any other protocol with respect to stability, delay, and throughput. DQRAP achieves this performance with a transmission queue TQ, a collision resolution queue RQ, and ternary feedback from as few as three minislots. Xu and Campbell introduced DQRAP and pr...

CBR Channels on a DQRAP-based HFC Network

DQRAP (Distributed Queueing Random Access Protocol), is a multiple access protocol that offers a throughput equal to the offered traffic up to a load of one with a lesser delay than any other multiple access protocol. DQRAP utilizes three control minislots and two distributed queues: transmission and collision resolution, to provide this performance for all values of "a", i.e., the size of the ...

Using DQRAP (Distributed Queueing Random Access Protocol) for Local Wireless Communications

Establishing voice circuits by transmitting voice packets, i.e., transmitting only when there is sound, has been studied for some 30 years. Despite the theoretical efficiency few such systems have been implemented, possibly because of the inadequacy of available multiple access protocols. A new protocol, DQRAP (Distributed Queueing Random Access Protocol), developed by Xu and Campbell at the Il...

PDQRAP - Prioritized Distributed Queueing Random Access Protocol

A new MAC layer protocol, DQRAP (Distributed Queueing Random Access Protocol), provides performance with respect to throughput and delay that approaches that of an ideal protocol. This paper introduces PDQRAP, a prioritized version of DQRAP. Two formats, the Extra-bit and the Extra-slot, each a variation of the basic DQRAP are described. Simulation results are presented that show that under a t...
